"Weddings Away"
You might want us to help plan and create your perfect wedding - but have your own wedding location in mind or perhaps want to explore other venues.
Rest assured, we've done some AMAZING weddings at other AMAZING venues.
Here are our recommendations ...
Newton Grange Farm, Gargrave, Nr Skipton.
This is a converted farm, with the farm buildings now luxe self catering accommodation and tghe main farmhouse as a beautiful B&B.
The lawn or surrounding fields can be used to house any of our recommended marquees, and with the surrounding Yorkshire dales, the Leeds-Liverpool canal alongside - the scenery is beautiful.
We did a fabulous wedding here is September for Sally & Craig. They held their civil ceremony at the nearby Tempest Arms Inn which also has rooms for guests.
Take a look at their photos by clicking on the link here.
Here's what Sally and Craig had to say afterwards :
Dear Claire, Duncan and your team.
We just wanted to say a few words of thanks for making our wedding day so fantastic and such a memorable one. So many friends anf family still commnet that it was the "best wedding" they'd ever been to!
Right from the beginning you patiently listened to want we wanted and gave us ideas from your vast experience and never made us feel a burden to you. Especially when you had to contend with the challenge of moving location to the dales! Nothing was too much hassle.
The day went far better than we could anticipated - everything looked so stylish, a real wow factor. All the little touches you gave us, showed how in tune you were with our expectations. Your thoughtfulness shone all day.
You, Duncan and the team were so professional. Nothing was too much trouble, and many of our guests commented on how organised and efficient you all were.
And the food - wow it was excellent. Our friends still talk about the sticky sausage canapes. And the afternoon tea was a delight, follwoed by the hog roast which was the highlight of teh evening. Such great quality food.
Thank you for creating with us such fond memories. We just wish we could do it all over again!
Oakwell Hall, Historic House & Country Park Gomersal, West Yorkshire.
You can get married in the historic galleried hall, and follow it with some beautiful photos in the walled gardens. The views are amazing, and it's all very atmospheric. The old barn is the venue for the party afterwards. Smaller weddings - up to about 70 can enjoy the space the barn offers, and likewise for more room, we can arrange a small marquee on the lawned area at the back. If you like open green space with lot's of charm and a country / home spun feel - then you ought to consider Oakwell Hall. Guests can stay at Gomersal Park Hotel just next door.
We'll be posting some images and comments of recent weddings here very soon.

Claire and the Weddings and Wellies team made our wedding day so incredibly special, beautiful and unique. Claire helped us to realise the wedding we wanted, offering advice and tips along the way, but letting us have our day just as we had imagined it. She took all the stress away, and went above and beyond what we could ever have expected anyone to do to make it just perfect. There were a few problems along the way with where we wanted to put our marquee... but we knew we could rest assured with Weddings and Wellies on board, they did so much more, than we will ever probably know, as they fixed any glitches along the way. The barn and marquee looked beautiful - decorations and cake all laid out perfectly, and the bar worked brilliantly, turning the barn into a real wedding venue.
Our guests cannot stop talking about how amazing the food was, "the best food I have EVER had at any wedding" was the comment we heard most on our return from honeymoon. We were so full from the generous and delicious portions of the main meal, that the evening hog roast and buffet was too much to face for us newlyweds! Our evening guests tucked in with abundance though, and absolutely loved it. The team of staff are just so friendly, and work so incredibly hard, the wedding party could just relax, as the busy team looked after us with such style.
Weddings and Wellies are family run, local, but provide MUCH more than any wedding caterer would ever provide, and do it all to the very highest standard. With Weddings and Wellies we knew we could have the personal touches we wanted, and as much say in the little details as needed, without fuss, but with professionalism with a smile. I would recommend Weddings and Wellies to everyone!
Thank you again to Claire, Duncan and the whole team, we cannot say how special you made our day. Joanna and Gareth Jowett
Smallshaw Farm and Cottages, nr Holmfirth (Last of the Summer Wine Country)
This is a new venue for us for 2012 ... I can see why Tim and Laura love it though. Again it's a converted farm. The feel of the place is magic. The self catering cottages are chocolate box in design, and full of luxuries. The farm itself is set high up in "God's own country", so the views of the pennines are spectacular all the way around. The venue for the wedding is the back paddock which benefits from 360 degree views. Just wonderful. We look forward to working with the owners over the coming months to make Laura and Tim's wedding out of this world! |
